Lifting my head to the skies – Why it is so important to be thankful!

Life

This year has been bipolar. The highs super high; the lows just terrible. I lost two friends unexpectedly and there has been serious illness dancing with a few family members. Some days I just don’t want to get out of my bed. I wan to burrow under the sheets and not open my eyes; and then there is Winnie’s cold nose and wag – wag hind end. Winnie never wags her tail. She wags her body. If she were an instrument she would be a tambourine! Sometimes people think I’m too chipper, too happy… I’m just grateful that each day brings me something to hang on to. When I want rain, I get sun and when the rain comes it falls like tears and washes away every sadness and cleanses my heart.

Love

Today was a day of reflection. I journaled. This is something that has kept me sane for the last 3 1/2 year. I connected with a dear friend and we shared so much and then walked and talked about life, love and Airedales. As we parted ways, I realized how much I rely on my friends to get me through this beautiful thing called life. Ever since David and Jill’s death, I fear dying. I want to do so much and I don’t want to be next..

Happiness

I am thankful for everything. Fabulous friends, wonderful family members and then there are the twins and their gorgeous, smart mom and Winnie… my little red Winniehood! The sky is Crayola midnight blue, the stars are shining like diamonds and I am grateful for everything!!
